Conveners
The conference was hosted by the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment (MD) on behalf of the Norwegian government, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD).

In addition to UNEP and SCBD, the Norwegian government also drew on a number of other key stakeholders in the preparation of the conference, including the scientific community, relevant international organizations and the CBD SBSTTA Bureau. Liaison with UNEP and international partners was coordinated by Tone Solhaug from the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment, who is also a member of the SBSTTA Bureau.

Important support for the conference was provided from several relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion. Norwegian preparations for the conference was coordinated through an Interministerial Advisory Group, chaired by Deputy Director General Birthe Ivars of the Ministry of the Environment.

Organizer
The Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management (DN) was responsible for organizing the conference and hosted the Conference Secretariat. DN is the executive and advisory agency on biodiversity management in Norway, reporting to the Ministry of the Environment, and is the Norwegian SBSTTA focal point.
